Ever have so many things going on at once that there is no time to blog about any of it?

I only had one day to look for a house when I came down here a couple of weeks ago. I found a big one for not much money a few miles north of Monroe. I felt like I scored a huge victory.

I am beginning to understand why it was available for not much money. We are finding things that I didn't see on the initial walk-through. I don't mind slapping paint on walls and repairing doors, but I really hate cleaning up someone else's filth... especially when we just spent a couple of days trying to make the old place up in St. Louis spic-and-span so we could get our deposit back.

Sarah spent all day Monday scrubbing the kitchen. I spent four hours trying to make the main bathroom sparkle. Tuesday, I literally filled the back of my pickup with garbage I collected from the storage shed, closets and back yard. As I mowed the lawn I found even more garbage.

I think we can make it a home. There is a lot of work to do, but at least now we aren't afraid that our daughter Bailey will pick up some kind of disease just toddling across the floor.

I'm in Louisiana now.

I guess that makes me a Louisiana-ite.

Wow. It has been forever since I posted. I've been extremely busy trying to relocate to Louisiana.

This week is my last in St. Louis. Saturday we will be loading up a U-Haul and Sunday we will be driving south on Interstate 55.

It may be a few weeks before I can post anything again. Our home computer blowed up and I'll be losing the laptop that my company provides. When we get to Louisiana we'll begin to look at some options, but it may be a short while before we can afford one.

We found a three bedroom, two bathroom house with about an acre of grass. It will be quite a change from the apartment-dwelling we've been doing for the last five years. I will need to immediately locate a washer, dryer and lawn mower, so a computer will be way down the list of priorities.
